World Youth Day is a festive meeting: young people from all over the world, associations, communities, groups, and movements gather around the Pope, united by the same love for Christ, for the Church and its mission in the world.
The Pope invites all the young people of the world to go to a city to have a personal encounter with Christ: Where does Jesus send us? There are no borders, there are no limits: He sends us all. The Gospel is for all and not for some. (CV 177)
These are the themes chosen by Pope Francis for the triennial path of the World Youth Days, which will culminate in the international celebration of the event, scheduled in Lisbon for 2022:
