R. lived in Rizal. He finished the sixth grade of elementary school even though his mother fell ill. His dad had some savings. His dad is a fisherman and he wakes up before the sun every morning to go out on the boat to get the fish. He needs it to get money to afford his children to study. Mom got sick. It was a bad illness and R. was so afraid. Now she is fine but she can no longer work and his father is not able to support everyone alone.
R. lived in Rizal but then they moved because his mother could not work. R. said goodbye to all his friends and goodbye to his school.
Now his dad is working in Palawan. His brother helps him even if this means that he cannot study. His dad says that maybe someone from far away will send some money. He says that money they have far away are worth more and so maybe R. and his brother will be able to return often to study. R. does not know who will send this precious money that will open the doors of the school again but he knows that if one day he will have got some extra money he wants to become just like these people so good and to help someone to study.
