The spread of the virus has impoverished people who were struggling to survive even before the epidemic. Families have nothing to eat, they do not work and have no money to support themselves. They have just one meal a day sometimes. Before the quarantine started, somebody were doing jobs as washing clothes for the rich, selling fruit, vegetables, biscuits, water… They cannot leave the house now, so they have also lost that small source of livelihood.
However solidarity was not lacking and thanks to the support of Via Pacis Onlus it has been possible to distribute food rations to families in difficulty, that live in Katwe slum (Kampala).
