“Some time ago a man found a child in the forest and accompanied him to us.
His eyes were all puffy, his hair was frizzy and ruffled. He was left alone in a hut. We took care of him and kept him with us. When he began to feel a little better, we asked him how he managed to survive alone in the middle of the forest.
He replied that he was not afraid because he was going to sleep on various pieces of wood, so that the snakes could not reach him. His mom and dad were not there, his grandparents had taken care of him for a while, but then they left and never came back.
He had managed to eat by killing the small animals he found in the forest; we have noticed his dexterity in “pulling the neck” to the hens that occasionally they take us to the Center as a contribution to the medical expenses received.
Now he is a 15-year-old boy, he is always on the mission, we have entrusted him to a family.
There are many orphans who, like him, are entrusted to families in such a way that they remain inserted in our environment. This is also thanks to Via Pacis because if we did not have the opportunity to help families, this welcome would not be possible.”
