Support of 5 canteens for 750 children

Aim
Father Ferruccio Modena, a native of Riva del Garda, was a missionary in Bolivia from 1970 until his death in 2012. He worked in the parish of Cochabamba and seeing the great poverty of the barrios he understood that he was called to do something more concrete for local reality than the simple pastoral action.
He addressed a heartfelt appeal to Via Pacis that did not go unheard: an awareness campaign was launched which, in a short time, made it possible to find the money necessary to open the first canteen for poor children. In a short time they increased and reached 10.
Beneficiaries
Poverty is still present in the country, although to a lesser extent, and infant mortality still reaches high rates (5-6% before age 5).
The 5 canteens, now managed by Fr. Calderon, distribute a full meal to 750 children every day.
